About Elysia

I have a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design from SCAD and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Studio Art. My unique background lends a creative and insightful perspective to my work in user experience research.

My master's thesis, From Blue Skies to Deep Space, delved into the fascinating interplay between science fiction and its practical applications as a business tool. I explored how imaginative narratives can foreshadow technological advancements in the digital age.

With nearly a decade of experience in the corporate world, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of companies and individuals. I thrive on the challenges of each new project, valuing the chance to connect with people from various walks of life.

I'm no stranger to sharing my insights and expertise. I've had the opportunity to showcase my work at a conference and present it to senior executives at major corporations.

About

Outside of my professional life, I find solace in the great outdoors through hiking and sharing my home with my beloved feline companions. My passion for arts and crafts allows me to express my creativity. I love spending quality time with my family. They are my heart, and I am very thankful for my little family.

I enjoy playing board games. I organize board game nights with my friends and proactively promote these events through local neighborhood boards. This pastime allows me to exercise my problem-solving abilities while fostering a sense of community.

My dedication to making a difference extends beyond my career. I've volunteered with Pet Haven, providing foster care for cats in need, which has been a deeply rewarding experience. In the past, I spent time volunteering as a Girl Scout and was able to earn the prestigious Gold Award.

As I look to the future, I remain committed to improving my UX skills and exploring new research methodologies. My empathetic nature drives my work, ensuring that user experiences are seamless and deeply meaningful.

I am more than a UX researcher; I'm a creative thinker, an animal lover, and a community builder, bringing my unique blend of artistry and empathy to everything I do.
